Last Updated: October 26, 2023

Welcome to ChronoRealms! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website, services, and participation in our events, including role-play events, costume parties, and any activities related to the "Chicken Road" narratives or otherwise. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, purchasing tickets, or participating in any ChronoRealms event or service, you affirm that you are of legal age to enter into this agreement, or, if you are not, that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to enter into this agreement. You also affirm that you are fully able and competent to enter into and comply with these Terms.

2. Account Registration and Security

To access certain features or events, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
  • Maintain the security of your password and accept all risks of unauthorized access to your account.
  • Notify us immediately if you discover or otherwise suspect any security breaches related to the Service or your account.

3. Event Participation and Code of Conduct

ChronoRealms is dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable experience for all participants. By attending our events, you agree to abide by our Code of Conduct, which will be provided prior to or at the event. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Respecting all participants, staff, and venue property.
  • Adhering to safety guidelines and instructions from event organizers.
  • No harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior.
  • Following rules specific to the event, including in-character and out-of-character interactions. The "Chicken Road" may have its own unique set of challenges and rules; participants are expected to engage responsibly.
  • Compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.

Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct may result in removal from the event without a refund and potential banning from future events.

4. Costumes, Props, and Safety

We encourage creativity in costumes and props. However, all costumes and props are subject to safety inspection and approval by ChronoRealms staff.

  • Weapon props must be easily distinguishable from real weapons and meet specific safety standards (e.g., foam, plastic, clearly marked tips).
  • Costumes should be appropriate for a diverse audience and not be overly revealing or offensive.
  • Participants are responsible for the safety and handling of their own props.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on the ChronoRealms website, including text, graphics, logos, event narratives (including "Chicken Road" lore), and software, is the property of ChronoRealms or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any ChronoRealms content without our express written permission.

By participating in events, you may create content (e.g., character backstories, in-game actions). While you retain ownership of your original creative contributions, you grant ChronoRealms a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and incorporate such content in connection with promoting and operating our events.

6. Payments, Refunds, and Cancellations

Ticket purchases for events are subject to our Ticketing Policy, which will be clearly stated during the purchase process.

  • Refund policies vary by event and will be specified at the time of purchase. Generally, tickets are non-refundable unless otherwise stated or if the event is canceled by ChronoRealms.
  • ChronoRealms reserves the right to cancel or postpone an event due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, options for refunds or transfers will be provided.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our services and events are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. ChronoRealms does not warrant that the services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Participation in physical activities, such as LARPing, carries inherent risks, and you assume full responsibility for your participation.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ChronoRealms, its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, suppliers, or licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the services/events; (b) any conduct or content of any third party on the services/events; or (c) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ChronoRealms and its licensee and licensors, and their employees, contractors, agents, officers, and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees), resulting from or arising out of a) your use and access of the Service, by you or any person using your account and password; b) a breach of these Terms, or c) Content posted on the Service.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your State/Country, e.g., California, United States], without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Service after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
